Below are just some of the FreeBSD-related activities at FOSDEM this year:
FreeBSD Mini-Dev Summit on Friday: Sponsored by the FreeBSD Foundation, the Mini summit will cover topics including generating ideas for the Project’s participation in Google Summer of Code and a session on Bug Busting.
BSD Devroom on Saturday: Foundation Executive Director, Deb Goodkin kicks off a full day of talks with a 25 Years of FreeBSD presentation. The track also includes talks on Migrating a Big Data Cluster from Linux to FreeBSD by Foundation Board Vice President Benedict Reuschling, FreeBSD Graphics by Niclas Zeising, and much more.
Netflix and FreeBSD on Saturday: Jonathan Looney will talk about how Netflix uses FreeBSD, and the benefits to both FreeBSD and Netflix.
ELI5: ZFS Caching on Saturday: Alan Jude takes an an-depth look at how caching works in ZFS, specifically the Adaptive Replacement Cache (ARC) algorithm. The talk assumes no prior knowledge of ZFS or operating system internals.
