The FreeBSD Foundation is looking for a Marketing Coordinator who can help amplify our message, engage our global community, and support the growth of one of the world’s most successful open-source operating systems.
What You Will Do
As the Marketing Coordinator, you will support the Marketing Team in executing existing marketing programs while helping develop new initiatives that align with the FreeBSD Foundation’s mission. Your work will focus on increasing visibility for FreeBSD, engaging the community, and promoting the Foundation’s efforts through digital marketing, content creation, and event coordination. You’ll also collaborate closely with other teams across the Foundation to ensure consistent messaging and to support shared goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Refining social media strategy and best practices.
- Creating and managing an editorial calendar to ensure timely, relevant, and engaging content.
- Managing and exploring social media channels, including LinkedIn, Mastodon, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Updating and maintaining website content.
- Gathering content and building the monthly newsletter.
- Designing social media graphics and other marketing assets as needed.
- Scheduling and posting content across social media platforms.
- Assisting with event logistics in collaboration with the Marketing team.
What You Will Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in marketing or communications.
- Proficiency in WordPress, Mailchimp, and Canva.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, including Facebook, Mastodon, and LinkedIn.
- Knowledge of web analytics tools (experience with Plausible is a plus).
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work well with others, collaborate across teams, and contribute to a positive team environment
Salary
The actual base salary will be dependent on various factors relevant to the position and candidate such as geographical location, candidate qualifications, relevant job-related work experience, education, and skillset.
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA) we are disclosing the salary range for roles that could be performed in Colorado.
If performed in Colorado as a full-time position, this position has a salary range of $50,000-$64,000.
