Advocacy remains an important part of the Foundation mission. Our advocacy efforts include highlighting important and interesting FreeBSD work, producing informative literature, promoting FreeBSD at events, and giving talks on FreeBSD. We are continually working on new training initiatives and updating our selection of how-to guides to facilitate getting more folks to try out FreeBSD. Be sure to check out our blog posts to get software development project updates, event reports, and more. Speaking of events, we finally made it back to our first in-person event with the Open Source Summit in late September. Read more about that in the Fall 2021 newsletter. Our FreeBSD Fridays series of introductory FreeBSD talks continued with sessions on How to Track Git with FreeBSD and The Writing Scholar’s Guide to FreeBSD.

In addition to the other articles in Fall newsletter, the full list of advocacy efforts from the last few months can be found in the upcoming FreeBSD Q3 2021 Quarterly Status Report. Until then, here are just a few more advocacy highlights to review.

We are looking forward to wrapping the year with more FreeBSD Friday sessions, how-to guides and of course the November 2021 FreeBSD Vendor Summit. As always, if you have ideas for a FreeBSD Fridays session or how-to guide, please send them our way.
