Software Development
In 2024, the FreeBSD Foundation made progress on multiple software development initiatives, focusing on improving wireless networks and advancing cloud and file systems. It also began new work on the audio subsystem, unionfs, hierarchical rate limits in ZFS, vector packet processing, and an IOMMU driver. Learn More.

FreeBSD Foundation Enhances Cybersecurity with New SSDF Attestation for Silver, Gold, and Platinum Partners
The FreeBSD Foundation has introduced the first version of its Secure Software Development Framework (SSDF) Attestation, enhancing cybersecurity compliance for its Silver-level partners and above.
