Co-located with EuroBSDCon 2026, the September 2026 FreeBSD Developer Summit will bring together developers, contributors, vendors, and working groups for focused discussions and collaboration. Developer Summits offer a valuable opportunity to meet face-to-face, share ongoing work, ask questions, and work through ideas with others in the FreeBSD community.

Registration is a two step process:

1) Register for the Devsummit at the EuroBSDcon page and pay the devsummit fee to attend.

2) FreeBSD committers add themselves or any of their guests to this wiki page.

EuroBSDCon is the International annual technical conference held in a different European country each year. It focuses on gathering users and developers working on and with 4.4BSD (Berkeley Software Distribution) based operating systems family and related projects.

This yearly conference gives the exceptional opportunity to learn about the latest news from the BSD world, witness contemporary deployment case studies, and meet personally other users and companies using BSD-oriented technologies. EuroBSDCon is also a boiler plate for ideas, discussions, and information exchange, which often turn into programming projects.

EuroBSDCon 2026 will be held in Brussels, Belgium; September 09-13, 2026.

We’re pleased to share that the Open Source Summit North America 2026 will take place May 18–20 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Hosted by the Linux Foundation, this flagship event brings together developers, technologists, and open source leaders from across the globe to collaborate and shape the future of open source.

The summit features a wide range of tracks covering Linux, cloud and containers, AI, security, embedded systems, and more. Attendees can expect keynote sessions, technical talks, and opportunities to connect with the broader open-source community. Deb Goodkin, Executive Director of the FreeBSD Foundation, will be speaking at the conference.

We’re pleased to share that the CHERI Blossoms Conference 2026 will take place March 26–27 at the University of Cambridge. Hosted by the CHERI Alliance, this annual conference brings together members of the CHERI community, researchers, and industry leaders to explore the latest developments in CHERI-enabled technologies and cybersecurity. The event will feature live demonstrations, technical talks, and discussions covering new products, regulations, adoption challenges, and emerging technical work. Attendees will also have opportunities to connect with organizations leading innovation in secure system design.

In addition, a hands-on technical training day will be held on March 25 for those interested in gaining deeper practical experience with CHERI technology.

We’re pleased to share that planning is underway for a regional FreeBSD Hackathon in Wiesbaden this April. The event is designed to bring together local community members, but participation is open to anyone interested in contributing to FreeBSD. The goal is to collaborate, connect, and make meaningful progress on FreeBSD in a focused and supportive environment. The hackathon will take place April 24–26 in Wiesbaden, Germany.
